The 2nd Conversation

Today, I went to the Library near my house to find some native English speaker who could talk w/ me. After checking a news paper of Ny Times there, I found two men who were talking each other at a cafe. They accepted my wish that I wanted to talk w/ them for fifteen minutes. They were Mr.steve & Mr.Larry. Finally, our talk streched out two hours! It was very interesting to me. We talked about those following things.

First, I aked them one question “Sould a candidate’s religion matter to voters?” Both of them said “No.” Mr.Steve explained that has not been alloweded under tha law & any person even the president should not matter to others.  He told me that J.F Kennedy was an eager Catholic, so people worried that he might have taken it into his politics. However, he never did do that.

Second, I asked them who you would want to be the next President. They said they were just seeing what’s going. Mr.Larry gave me some advice how I could see the situation. He was a political science teacher, so he could explain about it very well. Besides, his son got married w/ a Japanese woman, so he tried to understand me. That was helped me to have a conversation w/ them. He said one sentnce that was “Grain of salt.” That meant we should be doubted whatever when we think about something. He told me that I should judge who told the truth & what is true. I asked him that CNN was good to judge who would be the next President b/c I usually watch it. He said that CNN is more liberal and FOX is more conservative, so I should watch ABC, NBC & CBS that are some straight.

Last, I asked them about Subprime loan’s matter b/c Federal gov’t decided that they would take over Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac at last night. I thought it was too late to do that, and why it took so long time to do that. Mr.Larrie said People have very different sights in the government though they have just two politics, so it would take time to put together their opinions.

Finally, we had a good time to talk about some political issues. It was absolutely a good opportunity for me to know about America more.
