The 3rd Conversation

Hi, This is Azumi. Today, I asked Ms.Kristiani about September 11 attack through e-mails. She is a world studies student and we exchanged e-mail addresses at the last class. She is from NY, so I asked her about it. When that happening occuured in 2001, I was watching TV at my appartment in Japan. Suddenly, TV screen imaged one scene that an air plain attacked the WTC. I was very comfused at it and thought it seemed to be movie. But, unfortunately, it was real.  I was very surprised for it. Tomorrow, I was shocked to know what was happened. Because I was also very shock though I am a Japanese, I wanted to ask American how did they feel about it. After I sent a mail to her, I was a little regret to do it because it is a kind of sensitive question. I worried about it. But she replyed for me. She felt afraid for her life and like the war happened. She doesn’t like the war in Iraq because Americans are doing to another country’s people what the Sep.11 terrorists did to them. She hopes that the war ends soon. Before I came to the U.S., I wondered if many Americans thought it was a good thing that they fought against Iraq because they beat terrorsts. While I read her mail, I felt that we have in common. She wrote that she is against all war for any reason. I compretely agree with her. I think no one can put terrorists by the force under control. But I think the solution to the peace with terrorist by the dialogue also will be difficult. This is a very difficult issue for us in the world.
