Conversation in Commons Bld.

Frola and I asked questions about two- party system to five American students in Commons bld separetely last Thursday afternoon. I asked three students about it.

They didn’t say “two-party system” but said just Democratic and Republican party when I asked the question what kind of political system the U.S. has. They didn’t know about a multi-party system at all. Therefore, I explained them about it because we have that political system in Japan. When I asked the next question which system works more than another in the U.S., one of them replied me that he is satisfied with two-party system in the U.S. because U.S. government covers his thought for the policy.  On the other hand, an another guy complained about two-party system because a multy party system is more variety to choose for people. I partly agreed with his idea, however, in a multi party system two strong party control government like two-party system. I added to say a multi party system would be more complex to get together for carrying on policy. In my opinion, two party system is easy to carry on policy after an election.

Their most interesting political issue is that U.S. economy will recover as soon as possible.  Three of them support Democratic party and they will vote to Obama for the next president. They hope Democratic party would lead U.S. economy better than Repablican party.  Because I also hope so, I agreed with them. U.S. economy will finally have influence on Japanese economy.

I always want to know what Americans think about some topic, so I could have good time with them. They answered my questions seriously. I really appreciated that. Thank you for all of them.
